PERSONAL TRAINER & COACH

BACKGROUND

After completing college in 2011, I started my professional career as an elementary school teacher in New York City. I was teaching during the day and attending night classes to complete my Master’s in Special Education. The days were very long, stressful, and demanding. Working out and eating nutritious foods wasn’t a priority and I sure felt it. During my day-to-day I felt weak, tired, sluggish and most of all, burnt out. It was then I knew there was a need for change. I started using ClassPass with a friend just to get moving and see what I liked. I enjoyed classes where the instructor demonstrated high energy, enthusiasm for movement, and most importantly- took the time to give me feedback during exercises. From there, I went a step further and decided to work with a personal trainer at New York Sports Club. My trainer pushed me outside my comfort zone and I was able to do things I never thought I could. It was then I realized I wanted to do the same for others- especially those, like myself who are too timid to enter the gym and start from scratch.

VISION

Daily movement is a key component to help aid in our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Simply put- the more you move, the better you feel! It has always been my goal to create a warm, positive, and encouraging space for my clients no matter their level of capability. I like to make fitness informative and fun. During our sessions, you can expect to be educated on the importance of the movements performed, be challenged while also having fun!

EXPERIENCE

I started my fitness career working at a corporate gym part-time. Soon after, I decided to resign from my teaching job and started training full-time at a boutique training gym in New York City, Upper Eastside. I worked with clients 1-1 in and duets. I learned a lot from the clients I saw who have experienced knee, back and shoulder injuries. Now recovering from a torn ACL myself, I have a great understanding and appreciation for those who want to continue their workout regime while also being mindful.

I have certificates in Nutrition from American Council of Exercise and pre/post-natal from Pronatal. I’m currently looking into a program in corrective exercise to better help my clients move pain free!
